Stupid smile

This one won't be used in the website...

Top of the butt

Top of the butt holder is defaced so that no one will want to steal it, I hope.

New butt holder

So we putt up a receptabe to dispose of cigarette butts at the new office so they do not litter the landscaping. After about 3 days it was pulled off the wall, anchors and all. I decided to replace it. This one is held on with JB weld, a custom bracket as well as a bunch of wall anchors.

This one ain't comin off!

Held on with a number of "Red Heads" each rated for 900 pounds. Back up the car if you want to pull this one down.

Something new

FocusStack68_69, originally uploaded by MacroMacroMan.

After getting some new equipment for my birthday and admiring the work online of several extrordinary macro photographers I decided to give it a try.
This is what is often referred to as a "dewdrop refraction" as the flower is focused (the light is refracted) by the water in the drop. The water acts like a lens and inverts and focuses the image.
In macro photography the depth of field is very shallow so it is sometimes impossible to get both the plant holding the drop and the refracted object in focus. In this photo, 2 images were exposed, one with each of these details in focus and the images were combined with a "focus stacking" program (I use Combine ZM).
