Something new
After getting some new equipment for my birthday and admiring the work online of several extrordinary macro photographers I decided to give it a try.
This is what is often referred to as a "dewdrop refraction" as the flower is focused (the light is refracted) by the water in the drop. The water acts like a lens and inverts and focuses the image.
In macro photography the depth of field is very shallow so it is sometimes impossible to get both the plant holding the drop and the refracted object in focus. In this photo, 2 images were exposed, one with each of these details in focus and the images were combined with a "focus stacking" program (I use Combine ZM).
